Settings → Dependencies

This is the default Settings screen. It is covered in full in Installing dependencies; this page is a quick reference.

What is on the screen

• A Setup required banner when a core tool is missing, listing what is missing.
• Updates — Check now, Update all, and the Update automatically switch (off by default).
• A card per tool — FFmpeg (with FFprobe), Whisper.cpp, FFsubsync, mkvextract, yt-dlp, Qwen3-ASR, Parakeet, Speaker detection and the Dubbing runtime — each with its purpose, status and version, and Download & Install, Update, Show files and delete buttons.
• Build to install on the Whisper.cpp card: CPU, CUDA, Vulkan or Metal, depending on your system.
• A Storage location note showing where the tools and models are kept.

Good to know

OCR for image subtitles is built in and has no card here. Whisper models and the Qwen3-ASR and Parakeet engines are chosen on Speech Engines. Removing a tool asks you to click twice. Everything on this screen works before you activate a license.

FAQ

What is the badge on Settings in the sidebar?

The number of installed tools that have a newer version available.

Why is a card greyed out?

The tool has no build for your system, or a job is using it right now.
